Ahhh. . . sweet clouds

Summer is full on around here--finally!  It can get rather toasty for us rain lovers.  But today seems absolutely perfect.  It is warm, but overcast and just a little breezy.  I love it!!  It is the perfect day to just relax. . . and work furiously on my grandson's baby blanket.  Just two weeks to get it done!  Here is a peek:

It will (probably) consist of 25 squares. Nine of them will be like these above.  Eight will be green (if I can find the right color--time for a trip to Joanne's), and eight will be grey.  Each square will have the same white border.  I will stitch all the squares together then add a green and grey border.  It is all in a single crochet stitch, so it will be very durable, but it is made with 3-ply baby soft yarn.  It will be quite different from his brother's, but I hope it will be loved and used often.  I have to admit, I really enjoy crocheting for my grandchildren.  Each of these little blankies is filled with grammas love.

mornings

It has been awhile since I "mused".  My days have been so filled with busy-ness.  I run around like a chicken with. . . well, you know THAT story.  The crazy thing is, whenever someone asks me what's new, I can't think of a single thing.  I rarely ever remember what was so important that I was running around like a crazy all day.  When life is lived like that, something has to give.  I am guessing that it is typically the sanity that goes first.  Or maybe the patience.  Or energy.  Or health.  Or any number of things.  My point is, what is the point of being busy if what is being done is not worth remembering?  So, today I resolve to do at least one thing with real meaning.  To say thank you at least ten times.  To do several acts of random kindness.  To send one letter.  Then I will write about my day in my journal so that I will remember that life is meant to be lived and enjoyed.
